At 11 weeks pregnant, you're fast approaching the end of the first trimester. For many women, this means that the worst of the early pregnancy symptoms are gone. Chances are good that you're probably not as tired as you were in the early parts of the first trimester. Many women also start to see a reprieve from morning sickness when they're 11 weeks pregnant, but if you haven't, it's possible that relief is within sight. As your uterus moves further up into your abdominal cavity, your trips to the bathroom will become less frequent since your uterus is no longer applying pressure directly to your bladder.
You may still feel like you're on an emotional roller coaster, and this is common. As your body becomes used to being pregnant, your emotions are more likely to remain in check.
At 11 weeks pregnant, many women find that they can no longer fit into their regular clothing and that it's harder to hide their pregnancy, particularly for second time moms. However, it's also normal to be showing very little, if at all, at this stage.
Your Baby at 11 Weeks Pregnant
At 11 weeks, your baby is going through some big changes, too! Your baby can now stretch and kick, although you probably won't feel it for a few more weeks, and he also has fully formed fingers and toes. If you were to have an ultrasound at this point, you might see your baby at 11 weeks flip and move around inside the amniotic sac.
You would also be able to see eye sockets, a nose and maybe even ears on the ultrasound. Although the ears are almost in place, your baby won't be able to hear quite yet. His intestines are also moving into place inside his stomach cavity.
What to Consider When You're 11 Weeks Pregnant
If you are unsure how many weeks pregnant you are, your healthcare provider may order a dating ultrasound when you are 11 weeks pregnant. For many women, this dating ultrasound is their first opportunity to see their baby and it can be when the reality of pregnancy sets in. Many women are comfortable telling friends, family members and coworkers about the pregnancy after this dating ultrasound, though deciding when to announce a pregnancy is a personal decision.
Exercise can be a great stress reliever when pregnant and for most women, is completely safe. If you have questions about exercising while pregnant at 11 weeks or beyond, talk to your doctor.
