Changing Baby on a Restaurant Table: Dirty Deed or Necessity?
Posted by Debate Mom
As moms, we all know kids don’t have the best timing when it comes to a variety of things, poop being numero uno. When it happens, you’re forced to change them in some pretty unconventional places, like your car, lap, and the stroller, to name a few. But, what about on top of a table at a restaurant? Anyone?
Well, a man wrote to “Dear Abby” recently claiming one of his customers changed her baby right on top of a table during lunchtime. After seeing this mama in action, the server said she would need extra sanitizer! I hope she got that as well as a pretty big tip.
This story really gets you thinking because there are so many unanswered questions. First of all, did the bathroom have one of those handy-dandy drop down baby changing stations? If it didn’t, was there another place this mom could have changed her little one? If it did, then why didn’t she take advantage of it? Inquiring minds want to know!
If you assume that this place did have a changing place and the mom chose not to use it, then I will have to say this is 50 shades of disgusting. No one wants to see a baby get changed while eating their lunch. If the restaurant did not have some kind of kid friendly area that could have been used, then this mama may have been forced to do what she thought she had to do. But still, could she have not run out to the car and did the deed there?
Being a mom forces you to do things you never thought you would. But, I can honestly say I wouldn’t convert my lunch table to a changing station. Talk about losing your appetite!
What do you think about this? Where are some of the strangest places you’ve changed your baby?
