Story: My story starts on a Friday night at home; I was reading stuff on Facebook. I was a week late from my due date, and I was scheduled for an induction the following Monday. So I was sitting at my computer when I felt this crazy feeling inside of my vagina. It felt like a big old bubble so I jumped up and all this water was gushing out of my vagina. I stood there like deer in headlights! I didn't know what to do because it's never happened to me. With my daughter, they broke my water in the hospital.

So I hurry and grab my phone and call my husband from work. Then I run to the bathroom and sit on the toilet to help control some of the water. While I wait for the hubby to get home I take a shower thinking that the water is all gone. I find out that it never stops!  When my husband gets home, we get in the car to go to the hospital at like 9 p.m. They start me on the meds that help you go into labor. Well, my son doesn't like that much, so it was a battle of his heartrate going up and down. I did have an epidural which was great in the beginning, then it was a nurse telling me to roll over over and over and over again… I think I rolled over so much and it was pretty hard to do with the epidural that it jogged something in my back so I started feeling the pains. They gave me a booster shot that caused my blood pressure to drop super low and my son’s heartrate dropped as well, so getting another boost was out of the question. All day Saturday I laid in that bed rolling over what seemed like every 15 minutes, just waiting to dilate, which wasn't easy.

Three hours before my little man was born I started feeling the pain again, except this time they weren't giving me a booster shot. They were afraid that we could both die. I couldn't get a C-section either because that meant they'd have to give me more epidural. I was 9 centimeters dilated and they said I could start pushing if I wanted to. I was in so much pain that I said, “Yes! I want to.” I felt everything. My son was 11 pounds when he was born, with a 38-centimeter head coming out of me with no meds. I felt myself being ripped in half. At the end I just couldn't push through the pain anymore; it just hurt way too much. Finally he came out of me after 30 minutes of pushing. I was happy and so was my husband: He had his boy! The nurses were awesome and jokingly saying, “Here’s your toddler.” Later that night I hemorrhaged pretty bad. But it’s all worth it in the end. I came out OK and so did he, and he's still super happy!

Wisdom for New Mom-to-Be: No matter how bad it is, no matter how much it hurts, no matter if you can't move afterwards, and no matter if you lost a lot of blood: In the end it is completely worth it!
