Summer Fitness Challenge + Giveaway Day 4

Day 4 with Kristin from Stuft Mama

Hello fellow mamas. My name is Kristin and I blog over at STUFT Mama. As a fitness professional and busy mom myself, I’m so excited to be a part of this Summer Fitness Challenge.


I’m a mom to 2 ½ year old rambunctious toddler twin boys. I keep busy running marathons, teaching fitness classes, owning a business, experimenting in the kitchen, burning vegetables in the oven and trying to keep my head on straight.

I’ve always had a passion for health and fitness. As all other moms out there, it’s been a challenge figuring out how to balance it all. To be honest I still struggle on a daily basis with trying to fit everything in. I have found though that making time to exercise is one of the most important things we can do for ourselves and our family.

Exercise makes us feel better both physically and mentally. Personally I feel like I can be a better mom when I move and treat my body well. That being said, the thing for us moms is that we don’t have a lot of time. There are definitely days when we can’t get to the gym or we just can’t find the time or equipment to get a lengthy workout in.

Days like that are perfect for incorporating short workouts into your day with your kids. I love working out with my boys whether it’s just running (or walking) with them in the stroller or doing some fun family moves together. I like to think that every little bit of exercise we do counts for something. If you only have 10 minutes, use them. Do a 10-minute workout.  We need to make the most out of the small amounts of time that we have. A lot of the time we also have to pick activities that either include the kids or can be done with them close by. I know this is something I deal with every day. I like to look at it as an opportunity to be a great example for our kids to see how being physically active plays a major role in healthy living. See, it’s a win-win.

I came up with my 3 favorite moves for you. You can pretty much do them anywhere you want.

They’ll get your heart rate up and hit all your major muscle groups in a short amount of time. Not to mention your kiddos just might want to do them with you (I know my boys usually do).

These moves can be modified if needed and modifications are shown in the video. I promise if you do these 3 moves just for a minute each to start out with you’ll feel it. I encourage you to go through 3 times, but just do what you can.

You’ll see in the video there is a lot going on around me, but that’s what we deal with all the time over here. I’m sure some of you can relate.

Wow...the frog jumps really got my heart rate going. I have never done those before. I liked this workout and appreciated that modifications were included for people like me who are just getting back into exercising again. I liked this workout. Quick and efficient!

My biggest challenge to fit in exercise are my two little ones - I am a runner and so if I run on the treadmill it seems impossible to get a full run in as one or both children are crying. It always works best if I meet a friend at the crack-o-dawn to get our run in outside of the home. That jogging stroller would be fabulous :)

Wow day yay for day four this week is flying by . Haha my little one was trying to copy the frog jumps it was cute and again today we walked for 3.5 miles. I got the cutest picture of her laying back with her feet up on the tray of the stroller after our workout ...I wish I could post it on here. I hope every one had a great evening!

I lost another 2 pounds that makes the grand total 8 pounds in 2 weeks whoo hoo pretty excited! It definitely has been a challenge especially now with my 3 and a half month old TEETHING yes she is actually getting teeth and with this comes much more comforting and holding so I have been dancing with her and doing lunges/squats while holding her talk about a great workout with weight haha! Hope everyone is staying strong

I like the frog jumps and the lunges, but I have a lot of trouble with the ones that require me to put my weight on my wrists. I managed 4 push ups, though, which is pretty good for me!

Reading your words and seeing your Picture really motivates me to want to be in better shape, for my betterment and to set a good example. My dad would lift weights, but my mom never exercised consistently. I don't know if it's because of that but I have never felt really motivated or that it was necessary to make it part of my life. Now I know better.

Loved the video, I think almost everyone can relate! haha. My biggest challenge is a combination of time and motivation. My day starts by waking up at 5:45am and it's go, go go from there. I get everything ready for my husband and son, so they can be out the door by 6:30am. Then I have to be ready and at work at 7:15am (10min commute to work!). I work until 4:30 most days, but 2 days a week I leave at 2pm to go watch my nephew and son so my mother can go to work. So, I do play with them while I have them. Once I get home, it's prepping dinner, clean-up, laundry, getting LO ready for bed and then I do my school work until about 10pm. Next thing you know... bed time. I rotate school work and exercise when I can. Some days I skip cleaning all together and have my husband pick it up so I can try to fit it in! He has been a champ helping out when he works 10 hrs a day himself!

I think the biggest challenge is time. With taking care of my 11 month old and cleaning and running errands, I feel like I'm on the go constantly and finding the time to work out is the hardest thing.

These last four days have been so motivating. After I had my son now 2 I joined a gym that I never used. Now after having my daughter 7 weeks you guys have given me the motivation. That I don't need to be in a gym like in my younger days I can workout while playing and being with my kiddos.
