Miranda Kerr Pisses Off Moms Who Said Yes to Pain Meds
Posted by The Baby News
Supermodel and first-time mom Miranda Kerr is making some other mothers very angry — and not just because she got back to her runway-ready shape mere months after giving birth.
In the August issue of Harpers Bazaar UK, the Victoria’s Secret Angel and wife of actor Orlando Bloom champions her own drug-free childbirth — and claims that saying no to an epidural resulted in “the best possible start in life” for her new baby boy.
"I had been watching all these baby bonding videos," Kerr told Harpers Bazaar. "When the baby comes out it goes straight onto the breast" if the mother hasn't had an epidural, she explained. On the other hand, she said, when the mom had had pain meds, the video showed that "the baby was a little bit drugged up and I was like, 'Well, I don't want that'."
Naturally, moms who went the less painful epidural route are up in arms over Kerr’s comments, saying that she paints a false and unnecessarily negative picture of moms like themselves and their infants.
What do you think? Should Kerr have censored herself? Is an epidural-free birth better for your baby?
